Arturo Maximilliano Cantú, age 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully on March 28, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Arturo was born on October 12, 1934 in McAllen, TX. In 1964 he married the love of his life, Angelica Ramirez Cantú and together had five children, Ana, Alma, Alfredo, Arturo, and Antonio.
During his Junior-year in high school, he joined the U.S. Air-force where he proudly served from 1953 through 1957. He then began working at CC Battery at which he retired after 30 years of service as an Assistant Counter Sales Manager.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tomas and Leonor Cantú, his brothers Alejandro, Arnold, Armando, his sister Alicia Cantú Sandoval and his granddaughter Jennifer Lee Trevino. Arturo is survived by his loving wife Angelica Ramirez Cantú and his children, Ana Glassmyer (Arthur), Alma Gutierrez (Anthony), Alfredo Cantú (Elizabeth), Arturo Cantú, Jr., (Veronica), Antonio Cantu, his surviving grandchildren: Vivian Gonzales (Carlos), Sergio Trevino, Jr., Crystal Silva, Ashley Cantú, Eleno Silva, III (Catarina), Alfredo Cantú, II (Melody), Audrey Cantú, Alison Cantú, Sara Gutierrez, Aiden Cantú, his great grandchildren: Jennifer Trevino, Julina Trevino, Nicolas Gonzales, Jacob Gonzales, Lexi Silva, and Sergio Trevino, III. Arturo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and an exemplary mentor to his devotion of faith in God.
Arturo is also survived by his siblings Aurora Hill, Anita Moreno, Aminta Martinez (Alejandro), Tomas Cantú (Alicia) and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Cage Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart Road, and visitation will begin at 5:00 pm with a rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. A mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5830 Williams Drive, on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 9:30 am and burial to follow at Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Rd.
