Armando Villarreal Garza was unexpectedly called to be with the Lord on July 13, 2011 at the age of 61. He was born on May 26, 1950 to Manuel and Lala Garza in Corpus Christi, TX. He will be dearly missed by his wife and all of his family.
Armando was married to his soul mate, Dolores for 44 years. They had a rare bond through the grace of God until they join together again in Heaven. Armando was a hard worker who had love for golf, music and dancing. He retired from Flint Hills after 25 years of service. Armando was very active in church; he was a Eucharistic Minister and choir member. Together he and his wife did ministry work for the community by taking communion to the elderly and holding healing masses for the sick.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lala and Manuel Garza; adoptive parents, Lucas Garza and Juanita Villarreal Garza and one sister, Janie Garza.
Armando leaves behind his family to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Dolores; his children, Armando “Mando” V. Garza Jr., Arlene T. Garza (Arturo), Felicha P. Garza and Manuel T. Garza (Jasmine); grandchildren, Victoria Armadillo, Justin R. Falcon, December L. Falcon, JoJo Villarreal, Priscilla R. Torres, Nicholas Garza, Jordan Garza and Zachariah Garza; great grandchildren, Bobby Ray Armadillo and Sampson Armadillo; loving siblings, Lucas Garza, Gil Garza, Fernando Garza, Eva Garza, Elida Garza, Irene Garza, Chris Garza (Nina) and Elodia Garza; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 3513 Cimarron, from 6:00 pm to the time of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
