Armando was a proud sailor who served 3 tours of duty during the Vietnam conflict. After his service to the Country, Armando became a Juvenile Detention Officer for 25 years. He loved fishing and gambling and was super proud of his classic Ford Flareside truck. He was always ready to place a bet and enjoyed spending time at casinos in Eagle Pass and Las Vegas.
Armando is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Enedina G. Barrera.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter Catherine Cecilia Garcia (Cecil Curiel), grandchildren: Eric C. (Kristen) Barrera, Noah A. (Kerensa) Garcia, Cody A. Garcia, Carolina A. Garcia and Alexis P. Barrera; one great-grandson, Alystor W. Garcia; Additional members of his family include: W. Christopher (Liza) Barrera, and He also leaves behind his sister Armilda “Amy” Colmonero, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other family members and friends.
His dear wife Enedina Gloria Barrera will be laid to rest along with him.
A full military committal service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Corpus Christi State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Road, Corpus Christi TX 78410.
The family will be accepting visitors at 610 Williamson Pl, Corpus Christi, TX 78411 after services.
Services are entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411.
