Antonio C. Sanchez

On December 18, 2015, surrounded by his wife and children, Antonio C. Sanchez was called to his heavenly Father at the age of 68. Born in Matamoros, Mexico on September 11, 1947 to Antonio and Manuela C. Sanchez, Tony relocated his family to Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1972, making many friends along the way. He was a family man with a big heart, never judging anyone and always willing to help. A cook at MMC for 8 years, he was also an experienced truck driver for Mistletoe, Tex-Pak and Rainbow. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at the flea market with his many friends and loving wife.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Manuela Cavazos de Sanchez; grandson, Isaac James Sanchez; and mother-in-law, Maria Gutierrez.

Antonio is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maria T. Sanchez; children, Maribel (Ernest) Alvarado, Rene Sanchez, Jose Antonio (Patricia) Sanchez, Criselda (Christopher) Calvillo, Roel (Priscilla) Sanchez, and Elizabeth (Richard) Alcocer; grandchildren, Samantha (Oscar), Darian, Ernest Jr., Jose Antonio (Gabriella), Becky, Steven, Paul, David, Daniel, Rheanna (Bobby), Michael, Meagan, Tyler, Christopher, Alec, Michael, and Richard; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Issac, Jose, Izzabella, Paulie, Jeremiah, Damion, Derek, Jarod, Elijah and Adam Rey.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. the same evening.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
