He was born in Inez, Texas on June 13, 1915 to the late Teodoro and Ramona Sanchez.
Antonio is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Isabel G. Sanchez, one daughter, Alicia G. Sanchez, one granddaughter, Amanda Barrera, son-in-law, Hipolito Gonzalez and all his siblings.
He retired from NAS civil services in 1977. He did community service at Greenwood Senior Citizen Center. He was also active with political campaign with Former Congressman Solomon Ortiz and other local politicians. He was an active parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church.
He leaves behind his family to cherish his memories; one son, Antonio “Tony” Sanchez Jr. (Hilda), three daughters, Delia Villarreal (Adelino), Mary Beatrice Barrera (Ernest) and Cynthia Gonzalez all of Corpus Christi, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
