Antonio Casanova Guajardo Jr. (Known by his friends as “Tony” and “Tony Boy” by his family) passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 25, 2021. He was born on May 17, 1960, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Antonio is preceded in death by his father, Antonio C. Guajardo; mother, Guadalupe Casanova Guajardo; father-in-law, Adonaldo R. Garcia.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Aimee Garcia Guajardo; son, Antonio “Anthony” C. Guajardo III; daughter, Krystina Guajardo Perez (Michael); grandsons, Rylan Guajardo, Aiden Perez, and Joaquin Perez; siblings, Dr. Elva Casanova Cerda Perez, Julia Casanova Cerda Baccus, Victor Casanova Cerda (Irene), Monica Casanova Guajardo; nephews, Robert Perez (Leslie) John Perez (Stephanie), Victor Cerda, Vernon Cordova, Vincent Cordova; nieces, Melanie Baccus, Rose Cerda, Sandi Rodriguez (Jody), Victoria Martinez; mother-in-law, Sylvia Garcia; sisters-in-laws, Lisa Garcia, Janida Garcia; brother-in-law, Adonaldo Garcia. He has numerous great nephews and nieces who he loved and adored very much.
Special Thanks to his sister “Nana” Julia Baccus who helped care and comfort him during this time, and never left his side.
He attended Corpus Christi Cathedral, Wynne Seale Jr. High, and W.B. Ray High School Class of 1978 where he was on the varsity football team, and Del Mar College.
He was a member of St. Philips the Apostle Catholic Church, the Men’s Acts Retreat and Men of the Upper Room. He also enjoyed being with his church family and Act Brothers.
He worked as a Landscaper for Gils Landscape Nursery and Fox Tree and Landscape. He was also an Independent Groundskeeper for residents in Corpus Christi. “Landscaping was his Art.”
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Dallas Cowboy football and barbequing. He enjoyed listening to music especially music from Queen and if you had a moment, he would talk to you about the group and he would bring out his CDs and DVDs to watch.
He will be missed by his buddy, Luckey, our fur babies Luckey and Ginger. He would enjoy taking him/her fishing and hunting.
He will always be remembered by his laugh, his smile, and his whistle. We can all hear him saying “Rock N’ Roll” !

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St., from 8:00am-9:30am, Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 3513 Cimarron Blvd, Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St.
