Angelo was born on February 4,1923 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Lucia and Gaetano Guiseppe Gagliano. He was a devoted husband to Joan Ann Gagliano, who he affectionately referred to as "Joanie" and loving father to Gerard Gagliano (Lee), John Gagliano (deceased), Richard Clement (deceased), Tom Clement (Rosemarie), Harry Clement (deceased), Larry Clement (Sandra), and Martin Gagliano. He loved his family dearly and was blessed with eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren who brought great joy to his life. He had a special bond with his brothers and sisters who he often recalled the fond memories of growing up with them in the borough of Brooklyn. His siblings preceded him to heaven, Joseph Anthony Gagliano (deceased), Teresa Marie Tringali/Halko (deceased), Vincent Joseph Gagliano (deceased), and Marie Grace Federici (deceased). He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews who brought much happiness to his life. He was a carpenter by trade that through hard work and determination lifted himself up to success as an entrepreneur who was always focused on providing for his family.
During World War II, he stepped up for the call to serve his country and joined the Navy. He proudly defended our country on the aircraft carrier the USS Langley, surviving enemy warfare, two typhoons, and the loss of great shipmates in the Pacific Ocean. Family and friends frequently enjoyed the captive accounts of his adventures in the war. He was a man of integrity, generous with the people he loved, hard-working, intelligent, and very proud of his Italian roots. On a trip to Corpus Christi to visit his son, he fell in love with what he always said were the kindest people he had ever met and the most beautiful culture he had experienced in the heart of South Texas. Shortly after, he and his beloved "Joanie" settled in Corpus Christi for the last nineteen years of his life. He enjoyed celebrations, family gatherings, church, music, and dancing the night away.
The family would like to express a heartfelt gratitude to the AADI Hospice Care (Carmen Ramirez and Nora Rodriguez), his very special hospice nurse Mylinda Howell, his physician Dr. Delia Quisenberry, and all the caregivers who watched over him during his short stay at the hospice home.
