Amelia had a career as a Custodian and Cook for BCISD – Petronila Elementary for many years. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Vivian Catholic Mission in Petronila, Texas. Amelia loved her children dearly and loved family gatherings. She was always the life of the party, and loved singing and dancing. She was always picture ready with her signature hand on the hip pose and a big smile. She loved socializing with people and always made new friends. She was the kindest, sweetest, most genuine and humble person you could ever meet. Amelia was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her father; Cruz Sanchez and mother Maria Fernandez Sanchez; her husband, Jesus Ramon, Sr.; sister, Concepcion Mungia; son, Jose Amador Ramon, Sr.; grandsons, Joey Ramon and Danny Ramon.
Amelia is survived by her sons: Jesus Ramon, Jr. (late Crescenciana) of Corpus Christi, Daniel Ramon, Sr. (Clementina) of Corpus Christi, Robert Ramon, Sr. (Gloria) of Grand Prairie and Ricardo Ramon, Sr. (Esmeralda) of Petronila; and her daughters: Dalia Beasley (Robby) of Petronila, Delia Bustamante (Alex) of Petronila and Diana Sanchez (John) of Petronila and her brother, Antonio Sanchez (Alicia) of Corpus Christi.
She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren: Rene Ramon (Esmeralda) of Corpus Christi, Rachel Ramon of Corpus Christi, Jimmy Ramon (Crystal) of Brownsville, Jason Ramon (Maria) of Wichita Falls, Gina Ramon Garcia (Juan) of Alice, Robert Ramon, Jr. of Grand Prairie, Ricardo Ramon, Jr. of Robstown, Marcos Flores (Thyra) of Longview, Jeanette Sanchez (Guadalupe) of Corpus Christi, Robert Beasley III (Samantha) of Longview, Candace Tamez (Manuel) of Bishop, Margaret Bustamante of Petronila, Breanna Joan Balderas (Ricky) of San Antonio, Brealle Janiece Sanchez of Stephenville, Hector Perez of Petronila and Eric Perez of San Antonio. She also had 29 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Corpus Christi Cathedral Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
