Allen Donald Wiggins Jr.

Allen Donald Wiggins Jr., age 80, was born on March 31, 1934 in Corpus Christi, TX. He died on January 10, 2015. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, with a servant-heart who served his Lord faithfully. He was known by many names; A.D. Wiggins, Bro. Red, Donnie, Red and Paw Paw.

He Graduated from Roy Miller High School where he played football. He served in the United States Army and worked as a mail carrier through the Roy Miller Post Office for over thirty years. He served in the bus ministry at Peoples Baptist Church ministering to countless children, many of whom lived along the same mail route he walked every week. He was a prayer warrior who was ceaseless in his dedication to his Lord and commitment to lifting up those in need.

He is preceded in death by his “sweetheart” Barbara Jeanine Holman, his father A.D. Wiggins Sr. and his mother Nell Wiggins.

He was survived by his four children; daughter Sherry Rice (Oliver), daughter Donna Jones (Duane), son Russell Wiggins (Laura), and daughter Kelly Martin R.N. He has eleven grandchildren; Justin Casarez, Austin Jones, Benjamin Martin, Kevin Jones, Miranda Wiggins, Allegra Morton, Michelle Wiggins, Carson Jones, Megan Wiggins, Vivian Jones, and Alexa Guthrie. He has six great-grandchildren; Carly, Abigail, Calysta, Aviah, Marley, Selah, Meiah, and Davey. He is survived by his sisters Mattie (Ron), and Mary Nell.

Services will be provided by Del Angel Funeral Home at Peoples Baptist Church on Thursday, January 15th at 11:00am. Viewing and visitation will be at 10:00 prior to the service. Graveside service to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Justin Casarez, Austin Jones, Benjamin Martin, Kevin Jones, Carson Jones, Daryn Morton and Christopher Guthrie. Honorary pall bearer is Ricky Hernandez. The family would like to express their appreciation to Irasema and Raul Sanchez and the staff at Garden House Private Care, Legacy Hospice staff, Dr. Benavides, and his church family at Peoples Baptist Church.
