Abel Pena Jr.

Abel was a longtime resident of Corpus Christi. He was the patriarch of his family and cherished his time with them. He enjoyed celebrating life and will always be remembered as the life of the party. He especially lived life spending time on the ranch and was an avid hunter known as “Gunsmoke” to those who loved him. Abel was employed with Champion Hi-Tech Manufacturing Inc in Houston, Texas for 26 years.

Abel is reunited with his father, Abel Pena Sr.; and his brother, Roland Pena.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, Abel Pena III (Michelle), Michael Pena; daughters, Clarissa Mattocks (Ira), Sabrina Saenz (Maricella), Isabel Saenz; grandson, Abel Rene Pena; grand-daughter, Miranda Pena; great grand-daughter, Jewel Moya; he is also survived by his mother, Maria Pena; his brother, Robert Pena; his sisters, Rosabel Corley, Annabel Mendez (Roland) and a host of extended family and friends.

Family will receive friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
