Susan was born on July 25, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio to Paul and Mary Jean Borchers. She graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in home economics education. Susan married Paul Colbert Grantham on April 23, 1966. During her life, Susan lived in Oceanside, Walnut Creek, San Francisco, and Newport Beach, CA; Seattle, WA; Okinawa, Japan; and Hong Kong. She was an active member of Mariners Church of Newport Beach and St. James Anglican Church of Newport Beach. Susan and Cobb hosted small group Bible studies in their home for 30+ years. They taught Sunday school and VBS together for over 20 years. Susan had a special place in her heart for teaching young children. Her church, family and friends knew her to be a faithful prayer warrior. She loved the Lord and her husband, children and their spouses and grandchildren dearly. The essence of Susan was to serve the Lord and her family.
Susan is survived by the love of her life, Cobb; her loved children, Jeanne and husband, Marty, John and wife, Brenda, and Hagen and wife, Lauren; her beautiful grandchildren, Brianna Joy, Giovanna, Zachary Colbert, Joshua Paul, Grace, Sarah, Ava Louise, Micah Hagen and Nora; and her sisters, Mary Abigail Borchers and Grace Ann Borchers Post and her brother, John Markey Borchers.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1st at St. James Anglican Church at 2995-A Airway Avenue, Costa Mesa,92626. Other arrangements are being handled by Pacific View Mortuary of Corona del Mar. We would like our friends to know that black attire is not necessary. Susan would love color, especially splashes of red.
