Remember how fondly Shirley made me laugh, especially time i called up to home in Port Perry and Ken said she was out at the bird sactuary and i said "where" and he then said Blue Heron (code for the casino and probably at roulette table.  Wish i had got to see her more once she moved to California.

Hi am late in learning of Shirley's death and even Ken's but knew she had moved to California to be near her wonderful daughter Jennifer. I had many great times with shirley..her infectious laugh brightened ones day.  We worked in same office and colisted properties together. Visited her cottage often. Remember calling speaking to Ken saying she was at "bird sanctuary" code word for blue heron casino...she loved her roulette.  Will always hold special place in my heart.

Hi Jennifer, Mark and Paul ; I just heard about Shirley’s passing, as well as your dads.  I’m so sorry for your huge loss.  She was one of a kind , a wonderful kind woman and it was my pleasure to have known her.  She inspired me.   You are so Very lucky to have had her as your mom and friend..... I just today had a relative of you guys from Ancestry.ca  contact me; and showed me Shirley’s obituary , email me or call me , I’ll explain. I’m sorry I missed her memorial last year. I wish I could express my feelings more eloquently to tell you how much we feel for you and for the loss of Shirley.
To lose someone so special is devastating.  What can I say....You lost your Mom & Grandmother and I lost my best friend.  I just cannot tell you how much I miss our daily calls.  Marla & I talk about her very often saying what a special person she was.   We had so much fun  when she stayed with us a few years ago.  She was so easy and went along with whatever was suggested.  Over the past 45 years, we shared wonderful times  some definitely would have to be censored.  We girls had so much fun  in our younger days,  Yes,  we called ourselves  "The Steel Mangolias" after seeing the movie together.  The good times will be remembered and our fun times never forgotten.
Shirley was a princess...beautiful, smart, generous & kind.  A wonderful friend that I could confide in.  I feel priveledged to have known her & had her in my life.    Love lives on forever, it will never fade so goodbye my friend....till we meet again.


My Aunt Shirley will be remembered for hosting wonderful parties, held for every occasion that went well into the night, fueled by her personality. My fond memories are  of an Aunt with an unbridled passion for her work and family.  To me she was always the epitome of class and style, successful in all of her endeavors  both personally and professionally.  She always made me feel welcome, I’ll always have fond memories of her and may she rest in peace. 

Shirley was my dearest friend and we knew each other for forty five years.
We shared so many good times with family and friends and our friendship was always one of laughs and spontaneous fun.  We had our ups and downs but something kept us connected over the long haul. I will miss her wonderful laugh, her directness, never mincing words and always  supportive.  I give thanks to Jennifer, Dino and Braydon and Olivia for their love and kindness they provided to Shirley during the long fight with the demon cancer.  Shirley and Ken were truly lucky to have their support.  Shirley you will be so missed but never forgotten. May you find peace and rest with Ken, your parents, siblings and friends who have gone before you.  We will meet again! Love Ross and Pat

I was so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing.  I met Shirley through my girlfriend, Pat, who was a close friend of hers.  Pat & I spent many wonderful times with her.  Shirley was a lot of fun & we had many laughs together.  Shirley & Pat  always kept in touch with each other over the years and, in turn, Pat would tell me what was happening  in her life.
Shirley was a  " Great Lady ".
Pat will truly miss her " Dear Friend ".

My husband, Ron & I were great friends of Pat & Ross Montgomery. When it was time for us to move back to the Toronto area from our home in Beaconsfield Quebec, I asked Pat for her friend, Shirley's tel. # because we wanted to use her as our Real Estate Agent. Shirley did a great job finding us a home around the corner from Pat & Ross. How wonderful that she spent the last years of her life living with her daughter & her family. RIP Shirley. You will be missed by all who loved you. Bettyanne Pajot
