Robert who last resided in Newport Beach, CA was born on June 26, 1924 in Buffalo NY and attended High School in Rochester NY. He was a Veteran of World War II having enlisted in the Army and later the US Marine Corp. After being honorably discharged from the military, he took over the family Jewelry business in Dunkirk NY, later adding a second store in Buffalo NY. Eventually moving to Southern California in 1977, he opened Jensen Talbert Fine Jewelers in the Del Amo Fashion Mall and later Roberts Jewelers in the same Mall. He sold high end jewelry for more than 60 years before retiring in 2010. He lived with his wife Marilyn Hill Levy, a Palos Verdes school teacher of 40 years, in Rancho Palos Verdes from 1988 until her death in 2013. In 2015 Robert moved to Vivante on the Coast in Costa Mesa, CA to be near his son Larry, who took care of him for the past seven years.
Robert never turned away from a collectable he loved or a friend in need. He always shared his offbeat humor, a smile, and boundless generosity with family, friends, and strangers who crossed his path. His open heartedness inspires a legacy of kinship and giving to his surviving three children and their mother Joan Daniels; Larry Levy & Lynda Fehrenkamp (Newport Beach, CA); Jill L. Stolt (Rochester, NY); and Jeffrey & Rhonda Levy (Manalapan, NJ.) In addition, he is survived by four Grandchildren; Paige Levy Kouretchian and her husband Bobby (Carlsbad, CA); Brian Levy and his wife Ruth (Irvine, CA); Andrew Levy & his wife Karen (San Mateo, CA); and David Levy & his wife Erin (Brentwood CA).
