Paula Lynn Foley was born on February 25, 1964 to Christina Bergman in Sunland Ca. Christina and Paula’s father, Roy Bergman raised her and her three sisters and one brother in Sunland, Tujunga. Christina often talked about how Paula was born with the most beautiful long fingers and she would hold her hands elegantly as if she was modeling them. In her pre-teen years, Paula was a Tom boy but she later evolved into a stunningly beautiful woman who loved to scuba dive, ski and spend time with her friends. Paula became a hairdresser at of 23 and continued to do hair for the remainder of her life. Some of her clients who were more like family than clients have been getting their hair done by Paula for 30 plus years. At the age of 25 Paula gave birth to her first child and her only daughter, Michaela Foley. Later she birthed two healthy boys, Parker being her second and Beau being her youngest child. Paula’s mother, Christina said she always knew Paula would be a good mom by how she cared for her baby dolls as a child. Paula often explained being a mom as her life’s purpose, that when she gave birth to her children, she realized how much she loved being a mom and all her extra hobbies were put aside so that she could tend to her children’s needs. Paula was truly a selfless woman always caring for those around her. She was adored by all who came in contact with her. She is described as fun, loving, bright, warm and was a friend and mother figure to all. Another huge aspect of her life was her Faith in God. Paula was baptized as a Christian on June 3, 1991 and her faith in God was evident and known to everyone. Her faith carried her through each struggle she faced while she was here on earth. In 2013 Paula was diagnosed with breast Cancer and was sorrowful but hopeful her God would provide and care for her. Her sorrow was quickly turned to joy as she welcomed her Granddaughter Azaryah Skye into this world in November of 2014. The connection that Paula had with her Granddaughter was unique and special. Paula or “Nay Nay” as her granddaughter called her, was infatuated with Azaryah and Azaryah was just as enthralled with her Nay Nay. The two of them spent days going to Paula’s favorite place, the beach and often swam in Paula’s pool. Even in Paula’s last few days when she was too ill to eat or drink, she still managed to build up enough strength to kiss Azaryah every time she could. Paula battled cancer for 7 1/2 years and took her last breath on January 22, 2022. Most who knew Paula would never know how sick she actually was because she always had a smile on her face, kind and encouraging words to give others and never gave into her fears revolving around the cancer. Paula was always the type of person to find the positive in any situation, through her struggle with cancer she learned all about health and nutrition and loved to share all of her knowledge with her friends. Many people were impacted by her life and her kindness therefore, she had over a dozen best friends. In Paula’s eyes, she did not loose the battle, she overcame and she completed the race she was set out to complete. She is no longer here with us but she is with her Heavenly Father rejoicing as he welcomes her home. She will forever be in all of our hearts and in our minds as we carry her memory and all her love within each of us. May her body Rest In Peace.
