Mr. Jagdish Rai Chopra, aged 70, of Irvine, California passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Jagdish was born in India, and after being part of the Indian Navy for ten years, immigrated to the United States in 1983.
He was a man who valued faith, family, kindness, strength, hard work, and giving. Jagdish dedicated his life to helping others, whenever and however he could. He was an active member of his local temple, and he had the biggest heart, dedicating his time and resources towards several charitable causes. He greatly valued education and he was always looking for ways to provide help to those who wanted to further their educations, but had limited means to do so. He had an incredible sense of humor, a laudable work ethic, and seemingly endless amounts of energy. He was very social, loved to dance and sing at every opportunity, and always made a special effort to maintain his years-long friendships and relationships around the world.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Neelam Chopra; daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Shivani Chopra and Vinod Kannarkat; daughter, Ms. Nyssa Chopra; son, Mr. Sunjay Chopra; and grandchildren, Mr. Aanik Kannarkat and Ms. Raiya Kannarkat.
A visitation for Jagdish will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Pacific View Mortuary Legacy Chapel, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar, CA 92625, followed by a funeral service with a cremation service to follow from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
