Evelyn Rose Herman (Lynne H.) age 91, passed away peacefully early morning August 23, 2019 in Fountain Valley, California. Her daughter Bonnie was at her side.
Lynne loved her Jewish faith and had several Rabbis visit her in her last months. The two achievements that brought her the most pride and joy were her two daughters Linda and Bonnie and her 40 years of abstinence in the Gamblers Anonymous program. She was a founding member of the Orange County Self Help Center, a safe haven dedicated for meetings for all 12 step programs. As a young woman, she secured a position with Top Secret Security Clearance at the Attorney General's office in Washington, D.C. She attended Woodbury College and received her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1958, something unusual for women at the time. She later was Benefits Manager for the Los Angeles School District.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Aron and Caroline Gross, who were Hungarian immigrants. She is survived and loved by her daughters Linda and Bonnie, honorary son-in-law Michael, honorary grandson Jonathan, brother Richard, sister Elaine and numerous generations of nieces and nephews and close friends.
Her Celebration of Life was officiated on August 26 by Rabbi Berkowitz of Chabad, West Orange County, at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary, Corona Del Mar, California.
