March 27, 1950 – February 26, 2021. Daniel Goulet passed away on February 26, 2021, at the age of 70. He was a long-time resident of Dove Canyon, CA.
A native Montrealer, Daniel (known affectionately as “Danny” by his friends and colleagues, “Papa” by his son and daughter, and “Grand-Pere” by his grandchildren: Julien, Leo, and Astrid) was born on March 27, 1950 --- in the middle of a quintessentially Montreal winter, which may perhaps explain his love for hockey and the Montreal Canadiens or “Habs,” to Gabrielle (Labelle) and Jacques Goulet. Daniel had the honor of serving as big brother to siblings Richard, Suzanne, Gislaine, Rejean, and Nathalie, and favorite little cousin to Michel Tremblay. He later moved to Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, where he met his beloved wife, Elizabeth (“Liz,” nee Dynerowicz) of 35 years, and his daughter Julie (Stromberg) was born. But Montreal eventually lured him back, which served as the venue for the birth of his son, Jacques. Years later, he found a permanent home far from Montreal in Orange County, California. And oh how he loved Orange County, especially the view of the Saddleback Mountains from his home.
Transplanting his family to California in 1991 was one of the biggest highlights of his accomplished 32-year career as a consumer packaged goods sales executive with Gillette/Proctor & Gamble. Daniel consistently led the company’s top sales teams. He was a paragon of dedication to the company and his employees. He excelled in his corporate life and was a model team leader. He graciously mentored countless employees as both a friend and supervisor. As such, he was loved and respected by his colleagues and employees. At home, he would proudly don his “Gillette Gear” and continued to do so into his retirement.
Although Daniel’s professional career was very fulfilling, he devoted his heart to his family. He always said that his greatest accomplishments were his two children. He adored his late wife Liz and never quite recovered from her passing from breast cancer in 2006 at the young age of 53. However, he lived for his children and doted on his three grandchildren who adored their Grand-Pere.
Lover of music, especially The Beatles and the blues, animals, hockey, and his family, Daniel will be sorely missed by his friends and family, who remember his big laugh, sense of humor, encyclopedic memory, conversations on politics and music, and --- most of all – his big tender heart.
Daniel is now dancing to Fleetwood Mac with his Liz, and she will take good care of him in heaven. In addition to Liz, he is predeceased by his mother Gabrielle (Labelle) Goulet, his father Jacques Goulet, his mother-in-law Wadyslawa (Jaworski) Dynerowicz, nephew Sgt. Robert Dynerowicz (CAF), and his nephew and godson Nicholas Goulet.
He is survived by his son Jacques Goulet; daughter Julie (Goulet) Stromberg and her husband Winston Stromberg; grandchildren Julien, Leo, and Astrid Stromberg; his father-in-law Deonizy Dynerowicz; his five siblings (Richard, Suzanne, Gislaine, Rejean, and Nathalie); his cousin Michel Tremblay; three quasi-half-sisters (Judith, Carole, and Estelle Marcotte); his wife’s siblings (Andy, Linda, Janet, Daniel, Darlena, and David); over thirty nieces and nephews; and his beloved birds and dog, Renoh.
Due to current circumstances, the family will be holding a small service for Daniel on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 5 p.m., at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary for family and closest friends only. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Liz, who has surely been waiting patiently to be reunited with her best friend and soulmate, at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary. The family will be hosting a virtual celebration of his life on Saturday, March 27th.
For now, we ask that you honor and remember Daniel in your own way --- but especially anytime you hear The Beatles and/or watch hockey. May this sweet man rest in peace with undying and endless love --- in heaven and across the universe.
