Bruce Bennett Tilden

A service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, in the Chapel at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3500 Pacific View Dr., Corona Del Mar, CA 92625.

Music chosen by Bruce will precede the service at 1:30 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Sally; eight children; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and was a true gentleman and patriot. Bruce was a veteran of the Merchant Marines during World War II and traveled to Washington, D.C., to visit the war memorials courtesy of Honor Flight Inland Empire, a local branch of a national organization that supports WWII veterans' visits to the war memorials.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Stroke Recovery Center, 2800 E. Alejo Road, Palm Springs, CA 92262; www.strokerecoverycenter.org.
