Rolland was born on October 1st, 1933 in Cornwall, ON. He married Florida Savard on February 16, 1952. Settling in Cornwall, Rolland began work as a painter and grew his own business to serve many homes and commercial properties across the region.
He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and fishing for Perch and Barbotte. Rolland had a passion for chocolate, especially for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. He camped for many years at Cameron’s Point campground. The house and events was always tout le gang - where he shared his love of music avec une joie de vivre. These gatherings often led to chanson à repondre and cards. Euchre was often played around the kitchen table - where Rolland developed a reputation as an optimistic bidder. He was a happy person who would occasionally lose his upper dentures laughing. He loved his family and raised them in the French language. He was fluently bilingual and shared his love of life with Anglophone family and friends.
