PITEAU Robert (Bob) It is with heavy hearts that are filled with so much love, that the family announces his passing on Saturday January 14th, 2023, his 83rd birthday, at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa after suffering a massive stroke. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Beverley (Wilson). He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Bernice, his brother Douglas (Carol) and two sisters Patty and Shannon Tremblay (Rene). He was the loving and devoted father of Todd (Mirella) and Chad (Carolyne). He will be sadly missed by his grand-children Ashley Scott (Jamieson), Jesse (Rachel), Noah, Samuel, a great-grandson Mason and his faithful four-legged companion Chelsea.
Bob was born in Windsor but came to Cornwall at a young age. His passion for sports and his community persisted throughout his life. At SLHS he played on the school basketball and football teams, and also became part of the Cornwall Emard Football team in the 1960’s. However hockey was the sport that really captured his heart. In the late 70’s he played for the Cornwall Oldtimers Hockey Club and was one of the founders of the Cornwall Cornfest. Summers were spent golfing, and for some time he was part of organizing a yearly tournament at the Cornwall Golf and Country Club, to raise funds for cancer. Coaching, refereeing, skiing and boating were also sports he enjoyed when his children were growing up. Bob lived life to the fullest with family and friends and also enjoyed 20 years of travelling to Sarasota, Florida to meet up with his many friends.
