Passed away peacefully with family at his side on March 25, 2016 in Cornwall. Beloved husband of Lucille (nee Alarie) for 65 years. Devoted father of Michael (Gail Beatty), Louise (Glen Sisk) and David (Anneke Fischer). Survived by loving sister Helen (Ed Bachmann). Predeceased by sisters Agnes, Viola, Yvonne, Jeanne and brothers Albert and Edouard. Dear grandad to Jennifer (Rob), Ryan (Ruth), Blair and Emily. Great-grandad to Scott, Leo, Jack and Katie. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Born March 3, 1924 in Timmins ON to Emilia (Charlebois) and Philip Fay. Maurice enlisted at 19 in the RCAF, serving overseas. He worked much of his career as Regional Assessment Commissioner in northern Ontario and later in Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry - Prescott and Russell. Curler and avid curling fan. Founding member of the Cornwall francophone genealogy group, passionate researcher of family histories and raconteur. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday March 30th at the Lahaie and Sullivan Funeral Home, West Branch, 20 Seventh St. W. Cornwall, ON (613-932-8482). Maurice and family appreciated the kind and thoughtful care from the staff on the 4th at Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge.
