It is with extreme sadness and grief that the family of Chaim Hyman “Hy” Kanner announce the peaceful passing at Hospice Cornwall on Wednesday July 26, 2023 at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of Anna-Lisa Jones Kanner. Cherished father of Teri Kanner-Wey (Brian) of West Kelowna BC, Cindi Kanner of Free Port NS, and Celya Dacosta of Ottawa. Proud grandfather of Brandon Kalker (Tatiana), Michael Kalker and great grandfather of Rowan Phillip Kalker. Loving brother of Reva Kanner-Dexter (Albert) of Vancouver and Philip Kanner-Rambow (Jann Neilson) of London UK. Dear uncle of Jeffrey Kanner-Dexter, David Kanner-Dexter, Jessica Kanner-Dexter, Georgia Kanner, Oliver Kanner (Scarlet) and great uncle of Arlo Kanner-Dexter, Brynn Kanner-Dexter, Ash Kanner Dexter and Violet Kanner. Dear cousin of Edna Schwartzman-Raimen and Avia Schwartzman-Raimen. Treasured son-in-law of Vera Jones–Opel (Hans). Hy was strong, caring and kind to all. He lived well and will be missed by all his friends and family. He will never be forgotten as his legacy lives on in our memories.
