Funeral services for William James “Bill” Napier Jr. are set for 2:30 P.M. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Don Elliott officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Henry Cemetery.
Mr. Napier died December 30, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. He was born January 21, 1930 in Columbia, TN. To the late William James Napier Sr. and Irene King Napier. He attended and graduated from Columbia Military Academy and University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he was president of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was in the ROTC at UT and upon graduating he received the rank of First Lieutenant in the US Army. He was later stationed in Japan after WWII, serving in the Transportation Corp. Upon his return home he farmed and started in the insurance business as an underwriter with TN Farm Bureau in Columbia and later worked and retired from Royal Insurance in Memphis and Nashville where he retired in 1995. Bill and his late wife Joyce moved to Corinth, MS. in 2008 to be by family and friends. Member of the Kiwanis Club of Columbia TN and Corinth when he was the oldest member. He was an active member and former deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Corinth, Bill loved the J.O.Y. group trips, helping with the “Buddy Bags” ministry and Men’s Chapel Sunday School Class.
Bill had such a genuine heart for helping others. He was a devoted caregiver to his wife during her long illness. He was loved by the community for his good nature and charitable heart. He spent countless hours donating his time and energies to church and local charities. He was a friend to all and will be dearly missed by many.

sister Katherine (John) Spruill.
He is survived by his son William James Napier III his wife Beverly Hardin Napier of Corinth, MS. daughter Betty Napier Robbins her husband James Alton Robbins Jr. of Cummings, GA., grandchildren William James Napier IV “Will”, Brenley Hardin Napier, Alexandra Napier Robbins “Allie”, James “Haden” Robbins, Lydia Grace Robbins. Host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be the Men’s Chapel Sunday School Class at First Presbyterian Church.
