A Service to Celebrate the Life of Sherry Thompson, 51, will be held at 3 pm on Sunday October 29, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church in Corinth MS with burial to follow at Neill Cemetery in Savannah TN. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 until service time at First Presbyterian Church.
Sherry departed this life on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She was born on November 4,1971 to David and Peggy Beckham. Sherry graduated from Hardin County High School in the class of 1990. She would go on to further her education at UT Health Science Center, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy. She would begin her career in physical therapy at Magnolia Regional Health Center in that same year. Sherry had several certifications including Lymphedema Therapy Certification, Aquatic Therapy Certification, and Credentialed Clinical Instructor. Sherry was awarded a 25 year Service Award, served as the Rehab Supervisor at Home Health, and was also honored with Employee of the Month during her time at Magnolia Regional Health Center. Sherry was a member of Gum Tree Presbyterian Church in Tupelo, where she served in missions which was her passion. She had participated in mission trips to Mexico and Ethiopia. She also served in the Corinth Junior Auxiliary. Sherry enjoyed hiking, traveling, and maintaining her gardens, but most importantly she loved being with family.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Jim Thompson; parents, David and Peggy Beckham; siblings, Melinda Gray (Stacey) and Lorrie Cooksey (Jeremy); children Sarah Adams (Korben), Emma Thompson, Farrow Kate Thompson, and Ashtyn Thompson; grandchild, Locklyn Adams; nieces and nephews, Emily Tosh (Nathan), Ryan Gray, Annslee Cooksey, and Beckham Cooksey; and great nephew, Noah David Tosh.
Pallbearers include Scotty West, David Turner, Tommy Sharp, Troy Allen, Buck Boatner, and James Raiford.
