Celebration of Life Service for Sherry L. Smith, 75, is set for 4:00 pm Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Adam Wicker officiating. Family will receive friends Sunday at 3:00 pm until service time.
Sherry died March 25, 2024 at Arkansas Heart Hospital of a heart attack. She was born September 18, 1948 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Betty and Joseph McKay and was an only child. She and her late husband, George lived in Houston, TX for more than 40 years and moved to Adamsville, TN in 2018. Sherry selflessly loved her family and friends. She lived her passion of caring for others throughout her entire life as a wife, mother, “Granny”, and as a nurse for 40 years.
Sherry’s greatest joy in life was making people happy through her constant acts of generosity and kindness. She enjoyed reading books, writing in her journal, playing games on her phone, and talking with her family and friends. Rocking on a porch while enjoying the birds, butterflies and flowers made her smile. The only thing that made her smile more was rocking and talking with her grandbabies and great grandbabies. Her smile and overly considerate mannerisms will always shine brightly to all who knew her.
Sherry is survived by her daughters, Margie Lippert (Lee) and Cyndi Hall (James); grandchildren, Jorjana Loupe (Ivy), Destine Jory (Michael), Johnathan Jory, Sr., Emily Jefferies (Daniel), Maygen Bourgeois (James), Nicol Wicker (Adam), Amber Scott (Hayden), and Brooke Castillo. She provided unlimited love and nurturing to her children, grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren and will always be lovingly remembered for being Granny.
