Sheila Wilkins

A Celebration of Life Service for Sheila Wilkins, 59, will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Strickland Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Bro. Travis Smith and Bro. Rodney Whittemore will officiate the service. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday from 1:00 pm until service time at Strickland Baptist Church.

Sheila passed away on October 13, 2023 at the Miller County Nursing Home in Colquitt, Georgia. She was born on October 10, 1964 to Earl and Louise Evetts. She went on to marry her husband of 37 years, Edward Wilkins, and the two began to raise a family. Sheila enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, coloring in her coloring books, and reading her Bible. She was a member at Strickland Baptist Church and taught Sunday School and VBS for many years until her health declined. She was very active in her church and was very eager to help whenever an event was happening. However, what she enjoyed most of all was being around her family.

Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Earl Evetts Jr.; her step parents, Troy Walden and Myra Evetts; her grandparents, Ruby Wiginton, Millard “Day” Wiginton, and Myrtle Evetts; brother-in law, Carthel Morgan; and a host of aunts and uncles.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Edward “Milton” Wilkins; mother, Louise Walden; sons, Ronnie Wilkins and Jonnie Wilkins (Erica); sister, Tania Morgan; step-sister, Cynthia Hughes (Ronnie), Debbie Gurley(Billy), and Jan Winters; nephews, Isaac Wilcoxson and Will Holland; nieces, Julie Conner, Calista Morgan, and Kaitlin Wilcoxson; brother-in law, Marcus Wilkins; sister-in-law, Wilma Wilkins and Mary Holland; and an aunt, Jewell Brooks.

Pallbearers include Isaac Wilcoxson, Keith Hughes, Joey Medley, Johnny Emmerson, James Ford, Darreld Burnett, James Coleman, and Jody Emmerson

Honorary Pallbearers are her cousins which include Tony Evetts, Sammy Evetts, Darrell Evetts, Kimberly Evetts, and Bubby Whitaker.
