Funeral Services for Robert Wolfe will be held 2pm Saturday June 1, 2024 at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Van Horn officiating. Visitation will be at 12pm until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery in Corinth.
Robert C. Wolfe, 89 of Corinth passed away May 29, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Wolfe was born August 16, 1934 to the late Eve Lue Wolfe and Coran C. Wolfe of Hickory Flat, MS.
Mr. Wolfe graduated from Hickory Flat High School and attended Northwest Mississippi Junior College on a basketball and work scholarship. He graduated from Mississippi State in 1956 earning a BS degree in Agricultural Education.
He taught Vocational Agriculture at Alva High School in Montgomery County and at Hickory Flat High School in Benton County. Prior to graduating Junior College he married the love of his life, Robbie Faye Bagwell of Myrtle MS, on December 31, 1953. They enjoyed a happy married life of 68 years together rearing and educating their 5 children. Mr. Wolfe was employed by the Mississippi Cooperative State Extension Service in 1957 as an Assistant County Agent in Dairy at Hernando MS, to work with Dairy Producers in a four county area. He was promoted to Assistant County Agent in charge of 4-H club work in Yalobusha County in 1959-1965. His Extension Service Career of 32 years gave him the opportunity to work with farmers, 4-H youth, home owners and community leaders in 10 different counties in North Mississippi. He continued his education at Mississippi State University earning a Master’s Degree in Extension Education in 1973. He was promoted to serve as the Alcorn County Extension Service Agent in 1973 until his retirement in 1990. During his time as County Agent he encouraged Alcorn County farmers to grow specialty cash income crops-pimento peppers, cucumbers, okra, peaches, sunflowers, rice and feeder pigs to provide additional farm income. He organized a local Farmer’s Vegetable Market and a Pest Management Program for soybean and cotton producers. He received State and National recognition for his leadership in assisting local farmers to adopt proven research information and practices for increasing crop yields and farm income for a higher standard of living.
He was active in church and community life. He had a love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and managing his own farm enterprises beef cattle and tree farming. After retirement he continued to give back to the agricultural community organizations, The County Cattlemen Assoc., The Alcorn County Farm Bureau, The County 4-H Foundation. He also served as an appointed member to the Corinth and Alcorn County Alliance.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Corinth,MS for over 47 years. He served on the Deacon Board and taught Sunday school. He was ordained as a Deacon in his home church at Hickory Flat, MS in 1966. He had a love for the Lord and taught youth in Sunday school for over 50 years. He had a great desire to see the young men grow in their faith in the Lord and committing their lives to serve him in Christian Ministry.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Robbie and his brother Henry Wolfe, parents and grandparents.
He is survived by his children; sons, Joel Wolfe(Nita) of Corinth, MS, Alan Wolfe(Brenda) of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; daughters, Linda Wolfe Bradley(Chris) of Corinth, MS, Kathy Wolfe Bradley of Corinth, MS and Mary Patterson(Jeff) of Corinth, MS; grandsons, Casey Bradley(Melissa) of Ripley, MS, Levi Bradley(Leah) of Lake Charles, LA, Dustin Bradley of Corinth, MS, Cody Stafford of Corinth, MS; granddaughters, Jennifer Bradley Smith(Lin) of Selmer, TN, Heather Patterson of Hazel Green, Al, and Brittany Wolfe Foltz(Jordan) of Memphis TN; step granddaughter; Delauren Patterson Sweeney(David) of Corinth, MS; great grandchildren, Jacob Bradley(Allie Palmer) of Corinth, MS, Logan Bradley of New Albany, MS, Austin Bradley of Navarre, Florida , Lincoln Carter Bradley of Corinth, MS, Titus Sweeney and Ronin Sweeney of Corinth, MS, Grayson Bradley of Lake Charles, LA, Ember Ruth Foltz of Memphis, TN, Addie Lipford of Ripley, MS; niece, Charlotte Wolfe, Fulton MS; sister in law, Louise Smith of Whitehouse Tennessee; brother in law’s, Thomas Bagwell(Shelby) of Myrtle, MS, Joe Bagwell(Joyce), Myrtle MS, Ricky Bagwell(Linda) of New Albany, MS, Gerald Bagwell of Ripley, MS; and a host other family and friends.
Pallbearers include Casey Bradley, Levi Bradley, Jacob Bradley, Logan Bradley, Dustin Bradley, Cody Stafford and Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Reid of Corinth, MS and Arie Vance of Corinth, MS.
His very special caregivers are Marilyn Albrecht and Kristen Wood Smith.
