Margaret "Margie" Fields Young

A Celebration of Life Service for Margaret “Margie” Fields Young, 93, is set for 2:00 pm Tuesday at Fraley’s Chapel Church of Christ with Brad Young, G. W. Childs, Ricky Fields and John Vines officiating. Burial will follow in the Fraley’s Chapel Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 pm to service time at the church.

Margie died December 24, 2021 at NMMC Iuka. She was born October 29, 1928 in Alcorn Co. MS to the late Mansel and Eunice Fields. She was a lifelong member of Fraley’s Chapel Church of Christ, where she was baptized in 1942 at the age of 14. She worked mostly as a teacher at Kendrick Head Start. Margie enjoyed going to auctions, word puzzles, cooking for her family, but her pride and joy is her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Young; parents; and brothers, Leon Fields (Virginia), Lamar Fields, and Kenneth Young (Marcell).

She is survived by her sons, Phillip Young (Joan) and Tim Young (Lisa); grandchildren, Clay Young (Molly), Phillip Young, Brad Young (Elizabeth) and Bryce Young; great grandchildren, Cooper Young, John Mark Young and Joanna Young; brother-in-law, Gene Young; sister-in-law, Carolyn Fields; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Clay Young, Phillip Young, Brad Young, Bryce Young, Cooper Young, John Mark Young, Billy Taylor, and Ricky Fields.
