Services to celebrate the life of L.C. Wilbanks, 82, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Gospel Tabernacle with the Rev. Gary Hodum and Rev. Josh Hodum officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Gospel Tabernacle.
Mr. Wilbanks died on March 30, 2017 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born in Tippah Co., MS on June 20, 1934 to the late Jerry and Cordie Wilbanks. He was retired from Intex Plastics after 37 years. He was a longtime member of Gospel Tabernacle. Mr. Wilbanks loved his lord, his family, singing, working in his garden and in his wood working shop.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy Sue Wilbanks; her son, Russell Wilbanks; two daughters, Connie Doles (Gary) and Shelly Rider (Ted); grandchildren, Evan Wilbanks (Jessica), Eric Wilbanks (Brooke), Kaylon Doles (Cheyenne), Matthew Rider, Andrew Rider, Billy Keel and David Keel; great grandchild, Sassy Moody Wilbanks; and a host of relatives and friends.
Mr. Wilbanks was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clovis Wilbanks and Buddy Wilbanks; two sisters, Jewel Holley and Shirley Pittman; daughter, Sharon Keel; and a daughter-in-law, Sona Wilbanks.
