Kenneth Newcomb

Celebration of Life service for Kenneth Gerald Newcomb 77, are set for 11:00 am Saturday at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Kara Blackard and Bro. David George officiating. Burial will follow in the Wheeler Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 am to the service time at the church.

Kenneth died August 8, 2019 surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born September 28, 1941 in Alcorn Co. MS. to the late J.E. and Beatrice Newcomb. He was a 1961 graduate of Kossuth High School and enjoyed watching the Aggie’s play football on Friday nights. He was retired from Alcorn County Electric after his career spanned 40 years, He began as a lineman then climbed his way up to right-of-way supervisor. He was a long time member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church, were he was Trustee, worked tirelessly with the youth, cemetery committee and Highway Harvesters. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Newcomb; sister-in-law, Helen Newcomb, nephew, Jeff Newcomb; niece, Jamie Newcomb.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frankie Tapp Newcomb; his children, Connie Newcomb, Chris (Ricky) Hinds, Matt Newcomb; grandchildren, Hannah (Doug) Wilbanks, Cody (Shannon) Hinds; Braden Hinds, Austin Newcomb; brothers, David (Pearlie) Newcomb, Bill (Pat) Newcomb, Ron (Paula) Newcomb; sisters, Cindy Smart, Kathy (Jackie) Beckham; host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
