John McNeese

Celebration of Life Service for John Wiley McNeese Jr. 83, are set for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Henry Cemetery.

Receiving of family and friends for John will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 11:30 AM to 12:55 PM at Memorial Funeral Home.

John died July 14, 2019 at his residence. He was born June 4, 1936 in Nettleton, MS. to the late John W. and Valena McNeese. He was a 1955 graduate of Columbia Military Academy. John was retired from the steel business after many years, serving in sales and management for US Steel, Shelby Steel and O’Neal Steel over the years. After retirement he and Donna moved to Corinth in 2014 to be close to family. He was a member of First Baptist Church, he enjoyed golf, traveling, music and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna West McNeese; daughter, Valerie Horneffer (Keith); grandchildren, Matthew Marshall, Daniel Marshall, Sarah Caponera; six great grandchildren; brothers, Richard McNeese, Stanley McNeese; sister, Betty Johnson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Vickie and Bill Avery; nieces, Carmen Parks (Bill), nephew, Jason Avery (Jan); host of other family and friends.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Adult Men's Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
