James E. Newcomb

Mr. Newcomb Died April 8, 2014 at North MS Medical Center. He was born September 6, 1934 in Corinth, MS. To the late Azure and Mary Emma Cummings. He was owner of James E. Newcomb trucking Co. and served as Alcorn County Supervisor for 12 years, serving as Board president for 8 years. Was a member of First Baptist Church, 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survived by his wife Emma Lee Newcomb, daughter Becky (Dave) Shanklin, son Rick (Mary) Newcomb, step-children, Scotty (Cheryl) Smith, Stan Smith, Patty Potts, Billy Smith, brother Dr. Ray Newcomb, sisters Evelyn (Jon) Moore, Barbara (Larry) Mitchell, grandchildren Lyndsey (Luther) Wade, Mackenzie (David) Cousino, Kelsey Shanklin, great grandchildren Luther Wade IV, Harper Wade, step-grandchildren Stacy Brooks, Kirby Carruth, Dylan Potts, Cody Potts, Kim Lambert, Phillip Lambert, Rachel Beachy, Nathan Smith Kellie Smith, Shauna Davis, step-Great grandchildren Madeline and Marleigh Brooks, Audrey Davis, Logan Potts, Scarlett Beachy, Ford Carruth, Levi, Hazen and Piper Smith.
