James R. Leatherwood

Services for Mr. Leatherwood will be Tuesday, August 30, 2011, 12:00 noon at the St. James Catholic Church.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Corinth National Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday August 29th

5:00 until 8:00 with a Rosary and Scripture service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Father Richard Smith will officiate.

Mr. Leatherwood a native of Alcorn County and retired rural carrier for the United State Postal Service. He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, past Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator and District Deputy. He was active in the community, an avid golfer, "Hole in one at the Pickwick Golf Course. Mr. Leatherwood also taught golf etiquette at Shiloh Ridge Golf Course. Mr. Leatherwood was a veteran of the United State Army.

He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mattie Leatherwood, his first wife and mother of his children,Stella Leatherwood.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Leatherwood of Rienzi;Three sons, James "Larry" Leatherwood (Barbara) of Prospect, TN; Mike Leatherwood and Daniel Leatherwood of Rienzi; two brothers, Marcus Leatherwood and Richard Leatherwood of Corinth; a sister Mary Alice Nash of Nashville, Ark; six grandchildren.
