Gary D. Williams

A Celebration of Life Service for Gary D. Williams, 77, is set for 1:00 pm Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home with Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 and Thursday from 12:00 to service time at the funeral home.

Gary died Monday, February 5, 2024. He was born August 20, 1946 in Florence, AL to the late Jesse and Emmett Bell Williams. He was a 1964 graduate of Corinth High School, and a graduate of Mississippi State University with a BS in Industrial Engineering. He was a US Air Force Veteran having served during Vietnam. Over his engineering career, he had worked at Century Electric, Dover Elevator, Heil and mostly recently was plant manager in Florence, AL before his retirement. He enjoyed bluegrass music, playing the banjo, collecting guns and studying history.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Elge Burcham.

He is survived by his wife, Lula Burcham Williams; daughter, Tammy Williams Burns (Alan); granddaughter, Scarlett Williams and his grand dog, Archie; his sister, Floy Hawkins (Benny); nieces, Whitney O’Connor and Christy Ward; his mother-in-law, Mae Seal Burcham and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
