Frank S. Oliverio, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away March 22, 2016 at the age of 83 in St. Cloud, FL. Frank was born August 6, 1932 in Clarksburg, WV the eldest son of Frank S. Oliverio, Sr. and Bessie Oliverio. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert L. Oliverio.
Frank began his long and distinguished career in printing in 1950 by attending trade school in Nashville, TN after high school graduation. Returning to his home town of Clarksburg, WV he worked as an apprentice at Queen Printing Service for 2 years prior to proudly serving his country during the Korean War from 1953-1955. Frank’s skill set was put to use making topographical maps for U. S. forces. After his service he was able to fulfill his dream of attending college and did so at the former West Virginia Institute of Technology earning a bachelor’s degree in Printing Management in 1958. Frank served as senior class president and was named the outstanding graduating senior. West Virginia Tech is also where he met his loving wife, Patricia Leftwich Oliverio. Frank and Pat were married on June 6, 1959 and journeyed together for 56 happy years. Pat painlessly cared for Frank every day during his long battle with Alzheimer’s.
One day after graduating from West Virginia Tech, Frank started his dream job with the prestigious National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C. He represented National Geographic as the manager of quality at its many printing operations in Washington D.C., Chicago, IL and Corinth, MS. Frank was described by management and associates as “quality personified” and took great pride in his work every day of his 35 year career with National Geographic. He enjoyed working with the hundreds of printing company employees that produced the magazine and credits them for its success. Frank retired in September 1994 after being named Vice President and receiving the Society’s Distinguished Service Award.
While Frank was professionally known as a hard worker, he also played hard in his retirement. He was an avid golfer, traveled with Pat, enjoyed time with his grandchildren and always found time to serve others with his volunteer efforts in the Corinth community and at St. James Catholic Church where he was as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Frank’s cheerful, optimistic persona, giving nature and respect for others was an inspiration for the many, many people he touched throughout his years. Simply put, Frank just enjoyed life.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his 3 children, Darren (Linda) Oliverio, Krista (Rick) Gammon, Susan (Frank) Santoro; his grandchildren, Nikky (B.J.) Oliverio Flores, Emily and Christopher Gammon, Michael, Matthew and Mia Santoro and great grandchild Bella Flores; as well as, his brother John W. (Thresa) Oliverio and 4 nieces and their families.
The family would like to thank the many people that lovingly cared for Frank during his illness especially Kyle and Cherylann.

Visitation will be held at St. James prior to the funeral from 8:30 am – 10 am.
