Brenda Barker

Brenda passed away peacefully at her residence on February 24, 2025. She was born on July 14, 1944 in Baldwyn, MS to the late Boyd Cleston and Verdie Estelle Taylor Hill. Brenda was a cherished mother, beloved grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many throughout her years. She was a graduate of Baldwyn High School. She worked as the financial secretary at Oakland Baptist Church before her retirement, where she was a longtime member, Brenda was treasured for her dedication and service to her faith community. She worked tirelessly, providing support and care that were deeply appreciated by all who shared in the life of the church. Her warm spirit and kind heart will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her church family. She was an avid reader and also an excellent cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, lifelong friend and father of her children, Stanley Barker.

Brenda is survived by her sons, Sean Barker of Raleigh, NC, Todd Barker of Corinth; her granddaughter, Riley Barker of Corinth; her brothers, Wayne Hill and Eddie Hill of Saltillo\Baldwyn, MS; and nephews, Jon Hill of Baldwyn, MS and Joe Hill of Olive Branch, MS, great-nephew, Jackson Hill of Olive Branch and great-niece, Eirinn Hill of Baldwyn, MS. Each of them carries a piece of her beautiful spirit within their hearts.

Brenda's life was a testament to strength, love, and kindness, exemplifying the values she held dear. As we say our final goodbyes, we invite family and friends to honor her memory, celebrating the warmth she brought to our lives and the legacy of love that will live on in her family.
