Bill Caruth, 84, resident of Corinth, passed from this life to his eternal home on Friday, January 21, 2016 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born in Tupelo, MS on August 14, 1931 to Cecil and Ethel Caruth. Bill attended Tupelo High School where he was an outstanding football player. He attended University of Mississippi and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He served in U.S. Navy with honors.
Bill, and his wife, Myra, moved to Corinth in 1964 with Wurlitzer Co., worked with Dana/Tyrone Co. and Timber Products, where he worked in sales until his death.
Bill was a Board Member of Corinth Gas and Water, Board Member of Boys’ Club of Corinth, active member of Kiwanis Club of Corinth, was past president, and received the Kiwanian of the year award. He helped established the Leon Frazier Fellowship and was also a recipient of the award. He was a member of First Baptist Church Corinth. Bill was loved and admired by people of all ages and he rarely met a stranger.
A celebration of life service will be at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at First Baptist Church Corinth with Bro. Dennis Smith and Dr. Leonard Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Myra Caruth, the love of his life for 65 years and special friends, Dave DeVaughn and Taft Little.
