She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, John “Jack” Kearney in 2010.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara and her husband Mike Kahle of Coral Springs, FL; her son Jack Kearney (whose wife Kelly passed in 2020) of Keyport, NJ; her daughters Kathleen Kearney and Tricia Kearney both of Tamarac, FL.
Also surviving are her adored grandchildren Matthew Kahle and his wife Briana; and Erin Kahle and her fiancé Jake Jacobs—all residing in Virginia. She was recently blessed with her first great grandson John “Jack” Francis Kahle born on May 1st. She was able to meet baby Jack on Face Time – a beautiful gift.
She leaves behind her cherished sister Linda Cory of Davenport, FL.
Also mourning her loss are her brother-in-law Joseph Kearney, sisters-in-law Theresa Bates and Christine Hobmeier (Joe), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be greatly missed by countless longtime friends and neighbors.
Mom was born on December 4, 1934 in Bloomfield, NJ, living there until the family relocated to South Florida in 1971. She quickly made the adjustment from snow to sunshine--and loved the beach, cookouts, golf with Dad, and visits from the northerners. When Matt and Erin came along, she became a world-class Grandma—having the best sleep-overs, attending all their activities and of course indulging them in pretty much anything they wanted. She had a tremendous capacity for love, kindness, loyalty, forgiveness-- always there for each one of us—through the good and the sad times. The loss is immeasurable—we were abundantly blessed.
As per her wishes, Mom will be cremated and her ashes will be blessed and buried with our dad at South Florida National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at Barbara and Mike Kahle’s home on July 15 at 2 pm. Come and join us in sharing our memories of good times.
In lieu of flowers, please send a card or a note to someone who needs a lift. Let them know you are thinking of them. Mom always loved to send cards and had boxes of saved cards that meant a lot to her.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.kraeercoralsprings.com for the Kearney family.
