Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend Michael A. Lupo passed away peacefully in his home, with family by his side, on December 8, 2024, at the age of 92. Known for his boundless generosity, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for his family, Michael left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Michael was born in Brooklyn, New York to Michael and Julia Lupo on August 12, 1932. He was a graduate of St. John’s University.
Michael started his business career at Arthur Andersen & Co (CPAs) in New York City and then held executive positions, including CEO, CFO, and Operational Executive, for companies including the Singer Corporation, Avis Rent-a-Car, Florafax, Morgan Products, and Huttig Building Products.
In his retirement years, Michael was especially passionate about giving back to the community by supporting budding entrepreneurs. He served as Co-chair, Counselor, and Mentor at Score, the nation’s largest network of volunteer expert business mentors. Through his volunteer work, Michael mentored aspiring business owners, offering invaluable advice and guidance that helped them grow and succeed.
A longtime parishioner of St. Johns the Evangelist Catholic Church in Boca Raton, Michael was active on the Finance Committee and served as Finance Chairman for over 20 years. Michael played a pivotal role during the fundraising, construction, and design of the new church including the beautiful stained-glass windows—a project that was close to his heart. His tireless efforts made the windows a reality. The windows will stand the test of time, just as Michael’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Above all, Michael cherished his family. His love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was immeasurable. Michael was an avid fan at countless baseball games and dance recitals. He had an infectious laugh and an extraordinary ability to find joy in the simplest moments.
