Marino Curra is survived by his wife, Antoinette Curra of 57 years; his daughters, Maria Somera (Peter J. Somera Jr.) and Marina Sarakinis (Joseph A. Sarakinis); his son Ralph Curra (Adua A. Curra); and his grandchildren that he loved so dearly: Peter J. Somera III, Alexa Marina Somera, Joseph A. Sarakinis Jr., Michael Sarakinis, Ralph Curra, Nicolas Marino Curra, and Juliet Curra. He will be dearly missed by his extended family, friends, and community, who join together in mourning the loss of a truly remarkable man.
Marino Curra was born on June 7, 1941 in Filandari, Italy, to parents Raffaele and Maria Curra. As a teenager, he moved to the United States and settled in New York. In the early 1970s, he moved to Florida where he cemented his legacy as a great family man and a loving father.
Marino Curra was a friend to everyone he crossed paths with. He was a driven man who was deeply involved in creating for his entire life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, building in his garage, and working in his backyard. His family and friends will always remember him as an amazing person who filled our family with endless love, laughter, and memories.
A visitation for Marino will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery (Chapel), 1500 S. State Rd. 7, N. Lauderdale, FL 33068. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S. State Rd. 7, N. Lauderdale, FL 33068
