LaDoris M. Davis 92 of Naples, FL, formally of Bridgman, MI, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at her daughter Catherine Carney’s home in Coral Springs, FL. She was born in Aurora, Nebraska on April 24, 1925 to Louis A. and Lulu M. (Springer) Schertz. She married Wallace M. Davis on June 11, 1945 in Eureka, IL. Surviving her are her children: Michael Davis, Linda (Paul) Kutia, Daniel (Naima) Davis, Philip (Betsy)Davis and Catherine (Skip) Carney; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace M. Davis, daughter-in-law Maxine Davis, brother Deryl Schertz and sister Ruth VanWinkle. LaDoris supported the WWII effort working at Caterpillar. She also worked at the Citizens Telephone Co. at the switchboards in the early years of her marriage. She was a dedicated housewife and mother. She was a talented seamstress making countless costumes for her children for halloween and ballet recitals just to mention a few. She was known for her baking talent, especially her pies. LaDoris was a member of the East Naples United Methodist Church. Her memorial service will be held at the First Church of Coral Springs, Coral Springs, FL on March 19, 2018 at 10:30a.m. with Pastor Ray Wehrenberg officiating. Burial will be at East Naples United Methodist Church at a future date.
