Julio is survived by his wife, Dora Alicia Criado de Gavidia, of Lima, Peru; his children, Julio Antonio Gavidia, of Lima Peru; Dora Esther Gavidia, of Lima Peru; Zoila Marcela Gavidia Barton, of Lima Peru; Carlos Enrique Gavidia, of Lima Peru; Rosa Delicia Clark, of Falls Church VA; and his sister, Zoila Esther Micaela Gavidia, of Pomalca, Peru and many loving half brothers, sisters, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother, Cesar Alejandro Gavidia Cabrejos, of Polmaca, Peru; and his granddaughter, Alexis Christine Barton, of Parkland, FL.
Julio was born on April 10, 1931 in Pomalco, Peru, to parents Julio Emilio Gavidia Aguinaga and Esther Cabrejos de Gavidia.
He attended National University of Engineering (Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria) in Lima, Peru. In 1969 he immigrated to the United States of America to peruse his dreams of entrepreneurship and successfully started several vending businesses and inspired his children to also become proud US Citizens and entrepreneurs.
Julio was a great family man, a loving father. He married Dora Alicia Criado in December 23, 1961 and the couple had 5 children together.
Julio was a pioneer and a social, charitable man who was deeply involved in US Veterans program for the majority of his life in the USA. He enjoyed hosting barbeques for family and friends, taking his children camping, crabbing, the beach, family gatherings, and attending the sports and school events of his grandchildren. His family and friends will always remember him as a hardworking, ethical man who believed in the family unit. In his lifetime Julio helped many family members immigrate to the United States of America by opening up his home to them and helping them to establish themselves to be proud US Citizens.
A wake is scheduled for Monday, July 20, 2020 from 3pm to 7pm at Kraeer Funeral Home at 1655 N. University Drive Coral Springs FL 33071 954-753-8960.
A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Vincent Catholic Church at 6350 NW 18th Street Margate FL 33063 954-972-0434. Father Isaia Birollo will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Julio’s life. The family would like to thank driver, Ricardo Menns; certified nurses aid; and nurses, Belkin Muñoz and Tassia Grant of Margate Health & Rehabilitation Center Nursing Home for their kind and loving care in Julio’s last few days of his life.
