Contrera, John, 62, of Coral Springs, passed away at home on March 9, 2014. John was born October 11, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York to Lucille (Lipari) Contrera and the late Jerry Contrera. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1979 to 1991. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 20 years, Louise, sons, John Contrera, Michael Contrera, Vincent Philipps, daughter, Ashley Contrera, mother, Lucille Contrera, brother, Anthony Contrera, sisters, Marie (Jim) Reinertsen, Marion (John) Meekins, Laura (Vincent) Frisone, Janet Contrera and his furry companion, Buddy. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 13, 2014, 3:00 - 5:00 & 7:00 - 9:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 14, 2014, 10:00am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 9950 NW 29th Street, Coral Springs. Interment to follow at South Florida National Cemetery with military honors.
