A celebration of his life will be held from 5-8 PM., Monday, November 7, 2016 at the KRAEER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 PM.
Joel was born December 1, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York to Mac and Rita (Hartman) Plotnick. He graduated in Engineering from Brooklyn College and worked as an engineer in a variety of fields. His eclectic life included time periods in California where he helped to design satellites for NASA and time periods living in Puerto Rico, where he managed a purse factory and where he met the mother of his children, Josefina. Joel had many hobbies, including but not limited to, photography, piloting planes, fishing, playing baseball and smoking quality cigars. He enjoyed reading, swimming and passing down important life lessons to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Marisa Yibirin and Tanya Vega and their respective husbands, Daniel Yibirin and Alex Villacorta. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Aquiles Yibirin, Arturo Yibirin, Danny Yibirin, Olive Vega-Villacorta and Otis Vega-Villacorta
