Kane, Gerald Thomas, Sr., 79, of Tamarac, passed away April 13, 2018. Gerald was born February 6, 1939 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Gerald Francis and Margaret (Nugent) Kane. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp of which he served in the First Silent Midnight Drill Team and guarded President Eisenhower at the White House and also Camp David. He enjoyed eating all types of food, especially Italian Ices. He was a fan of Thoroughbred Horse Racing and he was a 26 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He was known to be gregarious and the "life of the party" when he was young. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Gerald (Christine) Kane, Timothy Kane, Michael Kane, grandchildren, Colleen Kane, Kelsey Kane, Jack Kane, Sara Kane, Michael Kane, sister, Priscilla (Larry) Dorr, cousins, Leonard Amundson, Glen Amundson, niece, Tara (Brendan) Hawkins and nephew, Thomas (Lynn) Dow. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 21, 2018, 2:00 - 3:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:00pm.
