

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geoffrey Stephen Cacurak, age 57, on October 6th, 2023. He departed this world surrounded by his loving family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and cherished memories.
Born on November 11th, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois. Geoff was a dedicated swimmer, swimming breaststroke at The Kiski School from 1979-1983 and qualifying as the second alternate in the 1984 olympics. Upon graduating he moved to Florida and began his higher education at University of South Florida, where he met his wife, Polly. In 1996, Geoff became a proud father and later again in 1998.
Geoff was a beacon of kindness, generosity, humor, honesty, and wisdom that touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. Geoff also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, Penn State Football, and newly, Florida State Football in honor of his daughters. Geoff’s enthusiasm was infectious.
Geoff will be dearly missed and is survived by his wife, Polly Cacurak, daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Michael Jobe, and daughter Samantha Cacurak, whom he loved dearly. He will also be remembered fondly by his mother, Donna Cacurak, and sister, Colleen Waggoner, nieces and nephews Brandi and Andrew Abood, Justin and Lauren Waggoner, and Spenser Foster, and granddog Luna. It is comforting to know that Geoff was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Cacurak, and sister, Cathryn Cacurak.
To celebrate Geoff's life, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071, followed by a funeral service from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family asks that you wear anything Pittsburgh-related (Steelers, Pirates, or Penguins) or black and gold to honor Geoff's love for these teams.
The family will also be sitting Shiva at the family’s home on Thursday, October 12th from 2:00pm-8:00pm.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all those who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. Your kind words and gestures have been a source of comfort and have not gone unnoticed.
Geoff’s departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
