Dr. Edward A. Moses MD

He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Gloria his four children Sylvia, Sarah, Sonya and Edward (Ted) and his beloved sister Dr. Kathleen Moses of Canada. He is preceded in death by his parents Abraham and Fudha Sabga Moses. His siblings George Moses, Hannie Moses Elias; Rahmie Moses Naime; Mousa Moses and Millie Moses Abed.

He was born in 1933 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. He was a graduate of Saint Mary’s College in Port of Spain, Trinidad and received his medical training in the 1950’s at the University of Sheffield, England and returned to practice in Trinidad. In 1967, he returned to England to pursue post-graduate training in Psychiatry. Upon completion, he returned to Trinidad where he was appointed consultant in charge of the Psychiatric unit at the General Hospital for thirteen years. He also continued a successful private practice in Family Medicine and Psychiatry. He lived a life dedicated to his patients and community.

In addition to his extensive medical duties, he was involved in a variety of medical, governmental, social and philanthropic activities in Trinidad and Tobago. These involved appointment to such diverse fields as school and prison reform; the organization of an alcohol and drug abuse treatment program; mental health; public education and Red Cross activities. He also created, organized and directed the School Feeding Program. In 1976 the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, awarded him the Medal of Merit (Gold) for Public Services.

In 1980, as a result of unexpected circumstances, including the very serious illness of his son he emigrated to Florida where he initially joined the Department of Family Practice at the University of Miami. He subsequently went into private practice in Coral Springs, Florida. After 30 years of practice, he retired in 2010.

A viewing will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home located at 1655 N University Dr. Coral Springs, FL from 4:30-8:00pm on Thursday April 7th . The funeral mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church located at 1401 Coral Ridge Dr. Coral Springs, FL at 11:00 am on Friday April 8th. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association.

Dr. Edward A Moses, MD age 89, of Coral Springs, Florida passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Edward was born March 1, 1933.
