Benjamin Rodriguez, 74, passed away at home, in Coral Springs, FL on January 20, 2014. Born to Anna & Benjamin Rodriguez on May 23, 1939 in Manhattan, N.Y. Benjamin grew up with his brother Joseph and graduated Cum Laude from NYU with a Masters Degree in Business. He went on to practice in New York as a CPA.
Benjamin's service in the Active Army as well as the Reserves is a testimony of his character, in the way he lived his life. He was Honorably Discharged from the Army of the United States and should be commended.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne, married for 32 years. Daughters, Erica, Claudia and son Benjamin.
His pride and joy was always the gym. Ben woke up early in the morning, before work to go work out. He has many gym rats who are a lot like him. Including his wife who he met in 1976 at the YMCA in Manhattan. He will truly be missed.
Ben enjoyed reading a good book, and often went to the library, it was his way of relaxing. And in the evening or during a break in his day, you would always see a book in his hand and his love for Starbucks coffee in the other. He was a quiet, hard working, and a humble man and would do anything for anybody. He was still working to the end as an accountant for the Broward County Board of Commissions. He always felt a need to be productive with his time.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm., Faith Baptist Church, 6950 Royal Palm Blvd., Margate, FL 33063. Guests are invited to meet with the family following the service
