Gervasi, Angelo Anthony, 79, Sunrise, went to be with the Lord in his home Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Angelo was blessed with a full life. He was born in Harlem, NY on March 4, 1937 to the late John and Eleana (Blasio) Gervasi. He graduated from high school with honors at the age of 16, Angelo entered the U. S. Navy at the age of 19 and served his country honorably on the U.S.S. Intrepid. Two days after his discharge from the Navy, he met Marie Grace Adamo and for 55 years he proudly called her his bride. Angelo was a true salesman and charismatic as they come. Angelo, Marie and his two children moved to Florida in 1971. Angelo was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served the Roman Catholic Church as a Permanent Deacon at All Saints Catholic Church and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Angelo will be remembered for his larger than life personality and his love and admiration for his family. Family for "Poppy" was his pride, his joy, his everything. Angelo was predeceased by his daughter, Marie Elena. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marie Grace, son, Philip (wife Kelly), grandsons, Raymond Philip, Anthony Thomas, granddaughters, Gabrielle Regan, Angelica Marie Reynolds (husband, Jon Erik Reynolds), great granddaughter, Laina Rae Reynolds , brothers, John, Robert ( wife, Jennifer), Michael (wife Carolyn) , John Martucci ( wife Diane) along with several nephews, nieces and friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26, 2016, 2:00 - 4:00 & 5:00 - 9:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs where a wake service will be officiated by Fr. Tony Mulderry at 5:30pm. A Mass of Christian Rite will be celebrated on Monday, June 27, 2016, 11:00am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1401 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Angelo's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org or 800-822-6344. Interment will be at a later date at South Florida National Cemetery with military honors.
