Rosa was born in Oberammergau, Germany and married Donald Lee Hollingsworth on March 16, 1958 in Germany. She began the life of a military wife and moved to America, where she became a very proud American Citizen. She loved her family and was a full-time mother who worked part-time until her children were older and she took a job with AAFES on then Fort Hood. Rosa braved military moves, her husband being wounded in Vietnam and living so far from her immediate family. She was a strong determined woman who could stretch a budget and instilled the love of GOD, hard work and respect in her children. She kept a clean home and made the best German cookies and cakes. She and her late husband Don loved traveling the U.S. and seeing all the sites and beauty our country had to offer. They were community involved and Rosa was a life time member of the Women’s Army Auxiliary, where when she wasn’t helping vets was playing “Bingo”.
Rosa Hollingsworth is survived by her three sisters, Elfriede Kellner, Hildegard Tremer and Emma Marka: three daughters, Ruth Jean Bellinger, Barbara Jeanette Mims, Deborah Carol Price, a son Donald Lee Hollingsworth, Jr.; two son-in-laws, Ken Mims and Barry Price. She had three grand-children Ellyn Lindsey Bellinger and husband Andres Perea, Rick Counter and wife April Hardin and Krissy Myers and husband Alex Myers She had five great-grandchildren, Emilie, Isabelle, and Madeleine Myers and Aniston and Ander Perea. and many nieces and nephews.
Rosa was preceded in death by her mother, Ida (Haid) Sterl and father Fritz Sterl; husband Donald Lee Hollingsworth and two sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 3rd from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM in the chapel of Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. Funeral Service will on Wednesday, December 4th starting at 12:00 PM in the First Baptist Church of Copperas Cove with Pastor Mark Kemp Officiating. Graveside Service will follow in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas starting at 2:00 PM
